Shirts must be of a collared polo style with short or long sleeves. T-shirts, rugby, or football style shirts are not acceptable. Shirts must always be tucked into trousers or shorts. Turtle or polo necked tops may be worn in the winter.
Recognized golf styled trousers are preferred. Chinos or five pocket style trousers without cargo pockets may be worn.
Paramilitary, camouflage, leather, cargo, tracksuit (jogging) trousers any type of jeans or non-golf Activewear are not permitted.
Trousers must not be tucked into socks.
Shorts should be tailored recognized golf wear and worn at knee length. Athletic shorts or other non-golf Activewear are not permitted.
Socks worn with shorts can be knee length, short or trainer style and must be predominantly white. Football socks and dark coloured "˜day wear' socks must not be worn with shorts.
Tops should be a collared polo style and can be long or short sleeved or sleeveless Racer-back styles are permitted, halter neck styles are not, turtle neck tops can be worn. Tops should be tucked in or if designed to be worn outside must be long enough to avoid showing midriff.
Recognized golf style trousers, capris or crops are permitted. Golf leggings may also be worn. Gym leggings and other non-golf Activewear are not acceptable.
Shorts, skirts and skorts must be recognized golf style wear and worn at a length appropriate for golf and the individual. If not "˜built in', skirts should be worn with under shorts.
Dresses must be recognized golf wear; they should have a collar (shirt or mandarin style). Racer-back styles are permitted halter necks are not. Dresses should be worn at a length suitable for golf and the individual. Under shorts should be worn with dresses.
Athletic and gym shorts or any other non-golf Activewear are not permitted.
When worn with shorts, skirts, skorts, capri pants or dresses, socks can be ankle or trainer length and should be predominantly white but can be colour coordinated with an outfit.
Only recognized golf shoes may be worn. Trainers or other casual shoes are not permitted.
Caps and visors should be worn with the peak forwards and not worn in the Clubhouse
Members, Guests and Visitors should dress appropriately for the Event they are attending, but generally "˜smart casual' is considered everyday wear.
Smart, clean jeans can be worn. Ripped, shredded, cut down faded jeans, jogging bottoms or workwear are not acceptable.
All hats, caps and visors should be removed. Hooded tops can be worn as long as the hood is worn down.
Clean golf clothing is allowed but wet or muddy golf clothing is not. Waterproofs wet or otherwise should not be worn in the Clubhouse.
Clean, smart trainers and other smart casual shoes may be worn in the Clubhouse with or without socks. Golf shoes, Beach Flip-flops or Sliders are not allowed.
Chelmsford Golf Club expects Members, Guests and Visitors to adhere to this dress code.
